Three excursions for 2009. There’s no extra charge - so there’s no
excuse for not going.
1. HAY 0N WYE
A
tour up through the heart of rural Monmouthshire and Herefordshire
to the wonderful world of second-hand books which is the border town
of Hay-on-Wye. With just one hour and a half in Hay, we’ll hardly be
doing it justice - but as promised this is another chance to visit a
few more of those places you missed this year. Whatever you do don’t
get so lost in the books that you miss the bus back to Caerleon.
2.
...DAY TRIP TO BARRY ISLAND (or GAVIN AND STACEY COUNTRY!)
Don your handkerchief, roll up
your trousers, unfold your deck-chair, this is your chance to visit
the sea-side! Now made popular by the mad GAVIN & STACEY, why not
spend an hour or two on the beach, fun-fair, or just Gavin and
Stacey Spotting whilst eating your toffee-apple or struggling with
your candy-floss!
3. WELSH COUNTRY AND
FOLK MUSEUM AT ST. FAGANS
This is an
absolutely fabulous afternoon insight into the history of Wales,
with hundreds of exhibits from the old rural cottage, toll booths,
through to working cottage industries. It is impossible to do
justice to this expansive attraction in a few hours and this is our
third visit to the museum in five years. Catch it this time because
we will not be visiting it again next year.
Alternatively, you can stay in Caerleon and
enjoy the peace.
